These birds can easily get used to the taste of veggies, so adding vegetables to the bird’s daily diet plan would not be an issue. It should be noted that there are leafy vegetables that may not be good for your winged pet. Some leafy vegetables can trigger calcium deficiency or liver problems. It is best to consult with your pet’s vet on which leafy vegetables are suitable to your acrobatic bird’s diet.

When you are considering breeding parakeets you should think even more of its diet. During this period, cuttlebone or a mineral block may be given to a female parakeet, in its cage, as a supplement. Unhealthy chicks is the result of poor nutrition of female parakeet birds.
